Citifyd (“we” or “us”) believes in protecting the privacy of our individual website and app users (“you”) and providing you with choices about how we use your personal information. We have adopted this policy to explain how we collect, use and share information about you and why collecting and sharing personal information creates a satisfying Citifyd experience. Details about managing your privacy options can be found in the section below titled Your Choices.
As used in the policy, the term “Parker” means someone who uses the app to rent a parking spot offered by a Provider. A “Provider” or “Seller” means a person or business that rents a parking spot to Parkers. A “Merchant” is a person or business that offers parking validation as a reward to Parkers who do business with them while they are parked with Citifyd, aka redeeming a “Merchant Offer” or earning a “Merchant Reward.” A “Partner Merchant” is an entity (such as a professional sports organization or an event venue) that partners with Citifyd to facilitate parking for their events and offer Merchant Rewards, thereby enhancing the experience of both the Partner Merchant’s and Citifyd’s member users. A “Parking Transaction” begins when a Parker starts the in-app meter and ends when the Parker pays for the amount of time he or she used the parking space.
This policy covers Citifyd’s collecting, handling and sharing of information about you, including personal information that could be used to identify you individually and information that is aggregated or anonymous and does not identify you. This policy only covers information collected through online interactions with you via our website or our app. It does not cover any information that we receive by physical mail, telephone or other electronic means, or personal information we receive about you from a third party. When you login to Citifyd using your Facebook or other social media account, those third-party platforms may track and share your information according to their own policies. We can’t control these third-party sites, so you should review their privacy policies to make sure you understand how they collect and share your personal information.
We collect two types of information: First, you provide us with personal information as part of the account registration process. Second, we track certain information automatically, and much of this information is not used to identify you personally. Keep reading for examples of these types of information.
Information you give us
Account information
When you create an account and use our app, you provide us with information like your name, phone number, email address, and authentication information.
To park with Citifyd, you give us the license plate number of the vehicle you’re parking. To list a parking spot for rent, you provide the physical address and a photo of the parking spot. Both Parkers and Providers register a credit card with our payment processing company, which allows users to make and receive payments to and from each other.
User Content
We want your opinions! We encourage Parkers and Providers to review each other after each Parking Transaction. Your feedback, ratings, and comments about those with whom you do business, and about our app in general, will help us improve the Citifyd experience for all users and will help the Citifyd community become better Parkers and/or Providers. This data, however, becomes ours indefinitely, and we can use it consistent with our policies herein.
Information collected automatically
Other information is collected automatically when you sign up, while using our website, and whenever our app is running. Examples of automatically collected information include:
Location Information
Because Citifyd’s services are location-based, we need to know where you are. We collect your location for services like navigating to your selected parking spot, helping you return to your parked car, and for notifying you of Merchant Offers when you are near their establishments. For more precise location, we may also use beacon (e.g., Bluetooth®) and near field communication technologies.
We’ll also keep location records of your Parking Transactions and the Merchant Offers that you redeem.
We may aggregate (e.g., anonymize and combine with other data) users’ location and transaction history to give us a big-picture view of the most popular parking spots and Merchant Offers.
Usage Information
We collect details about your access to and use of the app so that we may aggregate and analyze this information. For example, we, or our analytics partners, may analyze how many users are accessing our app at any given time, when they are accessing or using the app, and/or from what location they are using the app. This information helps us improve the Citifyd app and give you the best possible user experience.
Device Information
When you access the app or website, your device will automatically report to us information about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device's UDID, operating system, and browser type. This information helps us evolve the Citifyd app and services and best meet the needs of your technology.
What We DON’T Currently Collect
Except for the photos you upload to our app, we don’t access or collect your photos. Nor will we access your videos, audio files, text messages, contacts, social network connections, or any other files or data stored on your device including biometrics (information about your body, fingerprints, facial recognition, signatures, and/or voice print). We won’t access or track your browser history or your list of calls or texts made or received. Finally, we do not view, store, process, transmit or otherwise access your payment card information; this is handled by our secure, third-party payment processing company, and the payment information you enter when signing up passes directly to them. Their use and storage of your payment card data is governed by their own privacy policy and terms of service.
We do not disclose your personal information except in the limited circumstances described here. Our goal is to continually improve Citifyd, and your personal information provides unique insight about how to keep the app simple, effective and relevant.
If you have a prior relationship with one of our Partner Merchants, and then sign up with Citifyd, they and we may exchange certain of your personal information to help us partner in providing our services to you. We may also share info about your Parking Transactions and use of the app. When you redeem an in-app Merchant Offer, we may provide them your name and email address and possibly other information as explained on the Merchant Offer. Please read each Merchant Offers prior to redeeming. Because Citifyd, its Merchants and Partner Merchants, rely on each other to provide better services to their users, you cannot opt out of this sharing arrangement except by not using the Citifyd app and services.
Depending on the type of data we collect, it is put to different uses:
Your location data
We need to know where you are in real-time so we can guide you to your parking spot or back to your parked car. We also use your location with geo-fence technology to notify you of offers from nearby Merchants. Whether you will receive these notifications depends on your user preferences and privacy settings.
We may also share your location history with our Merchants and Partner Merchants to help them design and deliver more relevant offers to our users.

Your phone number, email address and other personal information
We use your phone number and email address to communicate with you as needed, to address matters related to specific Parking Transactions, to send account notifications, and to notify you about updates and changes to our services. As provided in our Terms of Service, by using the service, you are giving us express permission to call you and/or send you text messages and emails for these and other housekeeping purposes. We may also push notifications directly through your mobile platform to deliver updated information.
We will share the Parkers’ contact information with their host Providers, and share the Providers’ contact information with their guest Parkers in order to facilitate Parking Transactions, handle disputes, and help prevent, detect and investigate fraud or other prohibited activities.
From time to time, we or our Merchants or Partner Merchants will send you offers that we think will interest you. If you want to opt out of receiving these types of emails, see below under Your Choices.
User content
We use your feedback, comments, reviews and other content you provide to fix app bugs, deal with users who are breaking the rules, and fine-tune Merchant offers to make them more relevant to you. If we share user content for these reasons, it won’t be tied to any of your personal information.
Information provided by third-party apps and websites
If you log in using a social media account, we may receive other information directly from that third-party service such as your name, profile photo or avatar, job title, etc. If your Citifyd account is integrated with any third-party services and you have enabled location check-ins, your location may be shared with those third-party services.
Information gathered via cookies
We use cookies to enable our servers to recognize your locational data, and mobile or web browser, and to tell us how and when you access the services. For example, we use cookies to:
The cookies themselves don’t contain your personal information, but the information gathered through cookies may be combined with your account data in a way that identifies you. If we share information gathered through cookies for these reasons, we make sure it is not combined with any data that could personally identify you.
Aggregate information
As a mobile user, you probably know that most of the Internet runs on data. Statistical data helps us improve Citifyd and makes our Partner Merchants happy by providing them insight into how our users interact with their services. We may share aggregated data with anyone, but only when that data has been anonymized and can’t be tied to you personally.
The current Citifyd app is a beta version for testing, and it does not include any opt-in/opt-out features. During this beta period, your privacy choices are limited to participating or not participating. If you do not want to participate, or if you want to stop participating, either logout and close the app, or delete the app from your phone. You can always re-install.
For this beta app, Citifyd’s will have only a couple Partner Merchants, and data will be shared between them and Citifyd as explained in this Privacy Policy. You will know our Partner Merchants by their in-app offers for parking validation. If regular Merchants participate in the beta app, we will also share very limited data with them as explained in this Privacy Policy and on their in-app offers. Please read Merchants’ in-app Merchant Offers for additional details about the personal info that will be shared.
At the end of the beta period, any data that Citifyd has collected will be segregated and governed by the current Privacy Policy.
Future releases of the app and site will include a privacy dashboard for managing all your opt-in/opt-out preferences.
You can view and, in some cases, change certain personal information you’ve provided to us, such as your phone number, email address, name, profile/account information and usage information (such as Parking Transaction and history of offer redemptions). Instructions for viewing and managing your personal information can be found in this section, Your Choices.
We think that you benefit from a more personalized experience when you tell us more about yourself and the kinds of offers and parking locations you like. But if you’d like to opt out of certain kinds of data sharing or notifications, continue reading. Please note that some features of the app won’t work if you opt out.
Do Not Track
Currently, our services do not recognize browser do-not-track signals. You may manage how your browser handles cookies and related technologies by adjusting its privacy and security settings. Browsers are different, so refer to instructions related to your browser to learn about cookie-related and other privacy and security settings that may be available.
Location
You can disable "location" on your mobile device (or "location services" on iOS devices) to prevent sharing of location information. However, if you turn off location services, core features of the app will not work. More information about privacy settings can be found in this section, Your Choices.
Cookies
It may be possible to refuse to accept mobile cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your device. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain features of our app.
User content
We may sometimes ask you to complete surveys, answer questions, and provide other information for us or our Partner Merchants. If you answer, we thank you! If not, that’s totally fine, too.
Emails and other notifications
Notifications about parking spot availability, and other information about the app itself, can’t be turned off. However, if you don’t want to receive other non-essential communications, such as emails from our Partner Merchants, newsletters from Citifyd, or Merchant Offers, click the “unsubscribe” link in the email.
Your account is protected by a password for your privacy and security. You can protect against unauthorized access to your account by choosing a complex password, limiting access to your computer and mobile device, and logging off after using the services. We try to protect your security, but hacking happens and we cannot guarantee the safety of your personal information.
Our services are aimed at legal drivers only and, therefore, are not directed to children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under age 13.
Considering how fast technology changes, we may amend this policy from time to time. The most current version of our Privacy Policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at https://www.citifyd.com/policies/privacy. If we make any material changes to our policy, we’ll notify you by sending an email to the email address associated with your account. Our updated Privacy Policy is effective for all data collected after its posting date.
